| Dynamic sports statistics application |
| Project Requirements |
| Sky required an application to record live football and rugby matches and
catalogue the actions, creating a means of recording live statistics of the
game. This information would then be made available for several clients as live
feeds for their systems. The system also had to support an outside broadcast
capability with a potentially unreliable network. |
| Solution |
| Hyperdrive Solutions Ltd developed a VB application which recorded actions assigned
to certain keystrokes with the time element recorded as well. A second person
would assist the data imputer while watching the match live. The application
used a disconnected recordset to store the actions which reconnected to a
remote SQL Server database if and when the connection could be established.
.NET Web Services were used to provide the live sports statistics XML feeds to
external clients. A website was also developed to display the matches and the
data using XSL to transform the data. |
