BP had an old DOS based application that would provide laboratories worldwide with up to
date estimates of the precisions for standard analytical test method, highlighting any
anomolies between laboratories' results. However, all the lab data was entered by hand
and management of the statistical constants and calculations were severly limited. Also there was
no longer any support for the old system and there were environmental concerns as
thousands of reports had to be printed and mailed worldwide.

| Hyperdrive Solutions Ltd created a secure intranet based system utilising a z-scoring and Hawkins rejection of outliers that would enable
all worldwide laboratory users to enter their lab result data securely, while auditing all changes.
The BP team could then view this data and generate the statistical reports and
automatically inform and email these reports to the labs. The statisticians
could also update the various statistical weightings online making the entire system
more transparent, satisfying BP's Quality Assurance policies.
